Dillsburg Pa. Real Estate Real Estate

Dillsburg, Pa. is located in a rural-flavored town in south central Pennsylvania. Resting at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Dillsburg is a growing community conveniently placed right on the convergence of Routes 15 and 71.

Though not incorporated until 1833, Dillsburg was unofficially founded by Irish settler Captain Matthew Dill in 1740. Dill had been granted 504 acres of land, which today is part of Dillsburg. The settlement (near present day Dillsburg) was originally called Monaghan after Dill’s hometown. After its incorporation, the town was very popular as a focal point for agricultural product transportation, due to its location on two major routes.

Families with children are attracted to Dillsburg for its various youth programs, including boy and girl scouts, and soccer, baseball, and cheerleading clubs. Cultural life in the town is abundant, bringing many people in surrounding communities together with annual events such as the Annual Farmer’s Fair, Pickle Fest, the famous New Year’s Eve Pickle Drop, and even its own community fair. Only 14 straight miles to the state capital, residents of Dillsburg can also partake in anything the city has to offer.
